The language is plain on purpose — not because the legal obligations are light, but because you deserve to understand them.
This policy is issued by Maryam Tabatabaei (operating as The Coffee Atelier / Gol-e Qahveh Coffee Academy), Dubai, UAE. She is the data controller for all personal information collected through maryamtabatabaei.com.
1. What information is collected and why
Course enquiry and enrolment
When you submit an enquiry or complete a course enrolment form, the following details are collected: your name, email address, phone number, and the course you are interested in. This information is used to respond to your enquiry, process your enrolment, send you course materials and scheduling updates, and issue your SCA certification records if applicable.
WhatsApp enquiries
When you tap the WhatsApp contact link on this site, you are redirected to WhatsApp’s platform (wa.me). Any conversation that follows is subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. Maryam will use the information you share in that conversation solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you consent, to follow up about course availability.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors navigate the site. GA4 uses cookies stored on your device. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google through analytics. GA4 tracking only activates after you have given consent through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.
Instagram content
This site may display content from or links to @sca_trainer on Instagram. Instagram (Meta) has its own privacy policy which governs any interaction you have on that platform.
Contact by email
If you email hello@maryamtabatabaei.com directly, your email address and message content are received and stored in Maryam’s email inbox. This data is used only to respond to your message and is never sold or shared with third parties.
2. Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies — Set by WordPress to manage sessions and security. They do not track you.
Analytics cookies (GA4) — Set only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you click “Decline,” no analytics cookies are set.
Your cookie preference is remembered for 365 days.
3. How your information is stored and protected
Enrolment and enquiry data is stored in WordPress’s secure database with SSL encryption. Access is restricted to Maryam Tabatabaei. No data is transferred outside the UAE or EEA unless required for SCA certification.
4. How long data is retained
Course enrolment records are retained for a minimum of five years to comply with SCA certification audit requirements. Enquiry data from people who did not enrol is deleted after 12 months. GA4 analytics data is retained for 14 months.
5. Your rights
Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL), and where applicable under GDPR, you have the right to: Access a copy of your data · Correct inaccurate information · Delete your data (subject to retention obligations) · Object to certain processing · Withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@maryamtabatabaei.com with subject “Data Rights Request.” Requests are answered within 30 days.
