What to Expect in the Q Grader Program

 

The Q Grader Certification Course is a demanding, 6 day program. Furthermore, it combines training with a series of 9 exams.

We will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Sensory Skills: You will learn to identify and Value coffees through Descriptive and Affective Assessments.
  • Cupping Protocols: We will train you in the official SCA cupping methodology and prepration.
  • Green & Roasted Coffee Grading: Learn to identify defects in green coffee samples through size, colour, moisture and defect guide.
  • Olfactory & Triangulation Tests: You will test your ability to identify specific aromatic compounds and spot differences between coffees.
  • Extrinsic Coffee Evaluation : Extrinsic assessment focuses on evaluating information about a coffee that is external to the cup itself.

 

Your Path to Becoming a Licensed Q Grader
